Introduction
War Hammer 40,000: Dawn of war II is a real-time strategy game based on the original tabletop game ‘War hammer 40,000’ which is set in a sci-fi universe. It has the usual elements of a strategy game, such as resource gathering and troops managements, but it is mainly about gaining ground in a tactical manner whilst positioning your soldiers. The soulstorm expansion pack was released in 2008.
We will be focussing on cheats which are available for the Soulstorm expansion pack. There are a few available and there are also trainers which could help you in the usual ways.
Activating cheats
There are two types of cheats in the Soulstorm expansion: ones which work for the single-player campaign and others which are set to work in ‘skirmish’ mode. Skirmish mode is a feature of many RTS (real-time strategy) games, and it is self-explanatory; it allows more freedom for players in battles.
To activate the cheats for the single-campaign mode you need to bring up the ‘developer console’, as seen in previous articles. To do this add a ‘ –dev’ command into your shortcut of the game. For further help on how to do this, please refer to this article, and the section ‘Activating the developer console’:
The skirmish mode cheats are activated in Game Options, where you can set the ‘Allow cheats’ to ‘yes’.
You can then bring up the console by pressing the (CTRL) + (SHIFT) + (~) simultaneously and then type your command. This works in both modes.
Cheats
Here are single-player cheats:
sd_instant_build = 1– Allows buildings to be built instantly instead of having to wait the default waiting time. This works for both players and CPU controlled units.
sd_instant_build = 0 – Disables instantly built buildings
